Print high resolution resins and waxes for direct casting into precious metal. Produce 3D printed master patterns suitable for silicone moulding. Produce prototypes of jewellery to try on and view before production.

Direct Casting

Primarily a casting house, Jewelcast’s 3D Printing Department opened back in 2014 – we started off with just one resin printer.

We have come a long way since then, we now operate 5 high specification 3D printers, which provide a wide range of services for our casting customers. Whether you need a file printed for direct casting, direct moulding or just to view, our 3D prints are built to the highest resolution that showcase every fine detail of your work.

Our highly skilled 3D printing technicians check over each file sent into us for errors or potential casting issues. They will then sprue and support your files backed up by their knowledge and experience of our in-house spruing, moulding and casting services. All resins and waxes will be processed for casting and quality checked at every stage.

Client Testimonials

Don’t just take our word for it, here are a few kind words from one of the wonderful jewellers we work with.

Ever since transferring our whole 3d printing and casting work to JewelCast, we have had top notch wax and resin builds and speedy, fine quality castings.

The main driver of our successful business is the retail bespoke work and the creation of our own lines of stock. In utilising the services JewelCast can offer, we have found the perfect business partner!

Viewing Resins

As part of the design process, you can order a resin prototype of your design so you’re able to check the measurements and details are correct before proceeding with a precious metal casting.

Viewing resin charges start from £15 for rings and £5 to £10 for smaller items. Larger items will be quoted.

Viewing resins are made from a non-castable, hard plastic material which is robust enough for your customer to try on.

Viewing resins are perfect for when designing shaped wedding bands to fit accurately against an existing engagement ring, or to check your stones fit into the settings perfectly.

3D Master Patterns

The viewing resin material can also be used to create resin master patterns for cold moulding. We print your design in a much higher resolution than the viewing resins, meaning a smoother surface and less obvious build lines.

This production method is ideal for traditional designs as well as organic designs such as animals, and designs with texture which may be polished out if you were to have a silver master instead.

Most designs can be printed in this resin and cold moulded, however, on occasion there may be a design which isn’t suited to this method. If this is the case we will always inform you and recommend a silver master and vulcanised rubber mould instead. We work closely with our moulding and waxing team to ensure we give you the best advise to bring your designs to life.

Resin master patterns start from £20 for rings. All master patterns will be quoted.
